The German Society for Photography views itself as an organisation grounded in ideals whose primary commitment is to the cultural concerns of photography and the related visual media. Its activities encompass the conventional photographic processes and their diverse applications in the fields of art and scholarship, education and journalism, science and politics as well as non-conventional approaches and new visual media.
The German Society for Photography desires to be an open forum for all who are interested in photography. By hosting events for the public, the Society expects to contribute to addressing socially relevant, current questions raised in the current context in so far as they are associated with cutting-edge technical imaging (on the basis of analogue, electronic and digital processing).
